Springer, Miller & Allied Families

Our goal is to share information from original sources, including Bible records, wills, obituaries, marriage records, letters, and so forth which are connected to our ancestral families.

So far, all documents on the site pertain to the Springer family, descendants of William Springer, b 1774 and alive in 1830 in Scott Co., Kentucky, through a son, The Rev. John N.W. Springer, b 1809 in Kentucky, & d 1879 in St. Louis.

John N.W. Springer had three wives: 1) Eliza Jane Pilcher, 2) Mrs. Keziah (Hall) Llewellyn, and 3) Minerva Pilcher. Eliza and Minerva Pilcher were sisters and the daughters of James Madison Pilcher (1783-1858) and Nancy Milligan Pilcher (1787-1880). The Pilchers moved from Virginia to Kentucky to Jo Daviess County, Illinois. John N.W. Springer had 12 children, but only the two oldest sons were alive in the 1850 census in St. Louis. The eldest son, William J. Springer died in St. Louis in 1852 without issue. Therefore, ALL descendants of the Rev. John N.W. Springer are through his second son, John Thomas Springer (1829 IL-1867 MO) of Missouri.
